While The New York Times today reported that President Obama's advisors
are divided on whether to send more troops, the reality is clear: More
U.S. Troops Won't Bring More Peace!
Congress is preparing to vote on a $636.3 billion 2010 Defense
Appropriations Bill, including $128.2 billion to fund the wars in
Afghanistan and Iraq through September 2010.
So far, the White House has offered no timetable and no exit strategy for
Afghanistan. Instead General McChrystal and other military leaders are
pressing for the addition of tens of thousands of new U.S. troops and a
commitment to remain in Afghanistan for years to come.
A quagmire in Afghanistan is all too evident, as every step taken to
escalate this war makes it more difficult to leave. At this critical
moment, people across this nation need to send a powerful message to their
members of Congress that this dangerous course must be stopped. Our
government should adopt an exit strategy from Afghanistan based on
comprehensive all-party diplomacy, unconditional humanitarian aid,
economic assistance, and timelines for the near-term withdrawal of U.S.
and NATO combat troops.
Congress must stop funding seemingly endless warfare and military
occupation in Iraq and Afghanistan!
United for Peace and Justice, CODEPINK, Peace Action, Progressive
Democrats for America, Just Foreign Policy, AfterDowningStreet, Voters for
Peace, The Declaration of Peace and others believe that a public outcry is
vitally important now, when the generals are pressuring the President and
the Congress to escalate a costly, humanly destructive, and ultimately
un-winnable war in Afghanistan.
On September 30th, join the National Call-In Day and tell your Senators
and Congressional Representative to vote against the 2010 Defense
Appropriations Bill.
When making this call, tell them to stand firmly against escalation and to
co-sponsor Congressman James McGovern's bill (H.R. 2404) that would
require President Obama to provide an "exit plan" from Afghanistan.
Growing numbers of Senators and Congressional Representatives are
expressing concerns over U.S. military policy in Afghanistan. It is
hypocritical to publicly raise so many questions, while funding the
Pentagon for another year of war.

have threatened to demonstrate against an anti-racist workshop being held
at the YWCA on East Lake Street in Minneapolis. The NSM has declared the
anti-racist organizers "traitors" to white supremacy.
This provocation also has a wider goal: The NSM has been holding racist
anti-immigrant rallies in southern Minnesota, and now they are seeking to
establish a presence inside the City of Minneapolis. For years Minneapolis
has been a virtual "no-go" area for organized racist activity, due to the
efforts of young anti-racist organizers.
It is vital, especially in the wake of the racist attacks in Brooklyn Park
last week, that the nazis not go unopposed. They plan to bring their
racist, homophobic, anti-immigrant, antisemetic message of division and
hate right into the heart of the city. They must not go unopposed!

Ramsey County Attorney Candidate Screenings: Sept. 30 and Oct. 1
I'm writing to you because I'm imagining you were just as horrified as I
was with the way civil liberties were suppressed last year during the RNC.
During this past year, I've been working with some DFL friends to bring
some accountability to the DFL officials who allowed some of that to
happen.
Were you incensed at the police shenanigans during the RNC? Although the
RNC is almost a dim memory now, the Minnesota Patriot Act, among others,
is alive and well, ready to squelch any kind of dissent the authorities
decide needs to be marginalized or eliminated. Activities like pre-emptive
arrests, trumped up charges, and arrests of journalists are still "legal"
today, and authorities in charge have shown that they are unwilling to
step up and defend our Constitution.
I've helped with the formation of a progressive group, St. Paul Democrats
for Civil Rights, and we are holding candidate screenings for County
Attorney this coming Wed and Thurs. evenings. You may be aware, that
candidate screenings are a great way to show candidates that they need to
pay attention to a constituency. When a room is filled, the candidate
feels the pressure to respond. Also, if they feel motivated to appeal to
the group, they may find some willing campaign workers, but the main goal
is to show the candidate that they can't ignore the issues.
Why are we holding these so early? Because the four main candidates that
we know of have declared, and early in the process is when people like us
have a voice. Candidates are looking to impress, and if we wait until near
the election, they will have already found their footing and their
funding, and can ignore us. We intend to choose the most progressive,
Constitution-minded County Attorney candidate and endorse him or her. We
feel this will make a big difference in this important 2010 race.
We need your help! Filling the room will make a statement that St.
Paulites and Ramsey County residents care about the Constitution and are
willing to hold elected officials accountable.

Public letter of support for Papa John Kolstad for mayor of Mpls

We the undersigned support Papa John Kolstad for mayor of Minneapolis.
RT Rybak has failed to properly manage the city. Rybak has failed to
supervise the police department. Rybak has worked actively with the city
council to concentrate power downtown, and to shut out the voices of the
residents. Rybak has actively pushed to increase Property Taxes by
forcing up property valuations and increasing the tax rate. The Property
Tax is the most regressive tax there is. This callous policy is harming
low and fixed income people and small business. Rybak and the City Council
often speak of their support for small business, but their actions
directly harm small business.
Papa John Kolstad will actively promote public involvement, will make the
city more attractive, friendly and affordable for its residents, promote
small businesses, and promote public safety through a better supervised
police force. Papa John Kolstad will immediately ask for a complete audit
of the City's spending over the past few years. Essential Services, like
Police and Fire, must be funded. Non-essential services and expenditures
need to be reviewed on a case by case basis, with the intention of cutting
low priority programs. Papa John Kolstad will not force people on low or
fixed incomes to pay for programs of questionable value. He will examine
the Property Tax and work to remove any inequities. Papa John Kolstad
believes that providing assistance to small business, as opposed to heavy
taxes plus fee upon fee, will unleash this economic force, create new jobs
and increase revenue to the City.
Rybak is clearly using the Mayors Office as a stepping stone to run for
governor. Papa John Kolstad is committed to the city of Minneapolis and
will serve the full four years.
In a recent email to supporters, Rybak said, "For the better part of two
years I traveled the state to let people know what I knew: he (Obama)
would be a president who would inspire us to take on the big challenges
of our time".
Papa John Kolstad says, "No wonder the City is in such bad straits, the
Mayor has not been here for the better part of 2 years. We need a Mayor
who will travel around the City and find out what the Minneapolis
citizens know and what the critical needs and problems are. Then work to
solve them".

Police Use Painful New Weapon on G20 Protesters

This technology has been deployed in Iraq as an "anti-insurgent weapon" -
it could easily be used as a torture tool.
Pittsburgh police demonstrated the latest in crowd control techniques on
protesters when they used "sound cannons" to blast the ears of citizens
near the G-20 meeting of world economic leaders. City officials said this
was the first time such sound blasters, also known as "sound weapons,"
were used publicly.
Lavonnie Bickerstaff of the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police uses benign
language like "sound amplifiers," and "long-range acoustic device" to
explain the new weapons in an attempt to sanitize what is essentially a
painful weapon that leaves no visible marks on its victims. The mob
utilized a similar tactic on snitches when they would beat everywhere
except the face. If victims have no outward bruises to show, the world is
less likely to believe their stories of assault and harassment.
Unlike aerosol hand-grenades, pepper spray, and rubber bullets (all
traditional methods of protest suppression also used at the G-20
protests,) the damage from sound cannons is entirely internal, and can
only be preserved on video, but even then, the deafening noise cannot be
fully appreciated unless one hears it in person.
(Footage of the sound cannons in action can be seen/heard below. It's
clear from these videos that the extremely loud, high-pitched noise causes
pain.)
The "long range acoustic device (LRAD)" is designed for long-range
communication and acts as an "unmistakable warning," according to the
American Technology Corporation (ATC,) which develops the instruments.
"The LRAD basically is the ability to communicate clearly from 300 meters
to 3 kilometers" (nearly 2 miles), said Robert Putnam of American
Technology's media and investor relations during an interview with MSNBC.
"It's a focused output. What distinguishes it from other communications
tools out there is its ability to be heard clearly and intelligibly at a
distance, unlike bullhorns."
Except, police aren't trying to send a distress call to allies 2 miles
away. They're literally blasting this extreme decibel of noise directly
into the ears of protesters (or any unwitting citizens) standing mere feet
from the cannons. Depending on the mode of LRAD, it can blast a maximum
sound of 145 to 151 decibels - equal to a gunshot - within a 3-foot (one
meter) range, according to ATC. The National Institutes of Health (NIH)
reports that permanent hearing loss can result from sounds at about 110 to
120 decibels in short bursts or even just 75 decibels if exposure lasts
for long periods.
But there is a volume knob, Putnam notes, so its output can be less than
max, purportedly to give us comfort in the knowledge that deafening
citizens is left to the discretion of power-hungry police. On the decibel
scale, an increase of 10 (say, from 70 to 80) means that a sound is 10
times more intense. Normal traffic noise can reach 85 decibels, reports
MSNBC, but these sound cannons cannot be compared to standing beside a
busy New York City road.
The BBC reported in 2005 that the "shrill sound of an LRAD at its loudest
sounds something like a domestic smoke alarm, ATC says, but at 150
decibels, it is the aural equivalent to standing 30m away from a roaring
jet engine and can cause major hearing damage if misused."
This technology has been deployed in Iraq as an "anti-insurgent weapon,"
and the sonic weaponry is also being used on protesters in Honduras.
Seattle Weekly reports that this weapon could easily be used as a torture
tool if one doesn't already think this is its only use.
Sonic weaponry is now being deployed domestically to put a chill on free
speech. We're told this is the "humane" way to deal with protesters, but
it's really just a convenient way to suppress citizens without the messy
aftereffects of having to explain bullet holes to reporters. A bunch of
protesters complaining about ruptured ear drums doesn't make for dramatic
news.
[Let's sound blast the rich. They so much like it being done to us, we
should let them in on the pleasure. Say, sound blast country clubs and
corporate offices. No problem - they say it's not lethal, so let's do to
them what they do to us. Fair is fair. -ed]

Once upon a time, people in Western Pennsylvania knew authoritarianism
when they saw it. It had an unmistakable odor about it - like the smell
of Pinkertons and sulfur wafting up from the steel mills of Homestead.
It didn't wear makeup or attempt to justify itself with flowers or candy.
Authoritarianism used to be honest about its own brutality - and it
didn't care much who noticed. When it looked in the mirror, it recognized
its reflection. With a wink and a smile, it exercised its prerogative for
violence at the slightest provocation. It kissed its brass knuckles and
its twirling baton and expected you to do the same.
Over the years, authoritarianism has learned the value of mounting a charm
offensive before it comes out swinging. Though it has gotten a face lift
or two over the years, it still exhibits the same contempt for democracy
it always has. Though it douses itself with perfume and wears a loincloth
made of shredded pieces of the Constitution, it stinks of rotten eggs,
rubber and pepper spray. When it is doing its business on the streets, it
expects you to avert your eyes - and God help you if you ever question
its authority or tactics.
Last week, authoritarianism came back to Pittsburgh. Like any long-lost
uncle, it came bearing gifts: national and international media exposure
that would take $100 million to achieve, $35 million in cash injected into
the local economy and a cavalcade of world leaders who took time from
their oligarchies back home to admire the solidity of our fences and
barriers Downtown.
All authoritarianism wanted in exchange for these goodies was our soul -
starting with our civil liberties. Our civic leaders, flattered by the
"prestige" that comes with hosting a G-20 summit, quickly obliged. Who
would miss a little thing like civil liberties, anyway?
For three days, Downtown was emptied of four-fifths of its population and
replaced with 4,000 cops who spread out to different parts of the city
when ordered to do so by some invisible democracy-hating high command.
The cops given the task of imitating Darth Vader's stormtroopers were a
grim bunch. They volunteered to come here from other parts of the country,
attracted by the mercenary pay and the opportunity to exert the kind of
force on a civilian population their own civic leaders would never let
them get away with. Pittsburgh now has the dubious distinction of being
the only place outside Russia where sonic weapons were used on a civilian
population.
Dressed entirely in black, the irony of the cops' villainous-looking
protective gear was lost to them but apparent to everyone they gassed,
pepper-sprayed, knocked to the ground and arrested without cause.
Yesterday, the city released a list of 190 people, including several
journalists, arrested during the summit. Cameras were damaged and film
destroyed in a clumsy and bare-knuckled attempt to abrogate the First
Amendment.
"As a group, the police responded admirably," Mayor Luke Ravenstahl said
resisting the urge to identify with people close to his age, but more
diminished in power and stature. Mr. Ravenstahl couldn't afford to
acknowledge what anyone with access to YouTube can see with their own eyes
- that there was a full-scale breakdown in public order on the part of
the cops. The images of the brutal assault on Pitt students and passers-by
caught up in an indiscriminate and chaotic police sweep at the University
of Pittsburgh on Friday night will surely be a cautionary tale to the next
American mayor silly enough to consider hosting a G-20 summit.
An occupation like the one Pittsburgh experienced can't help but change
the way people view cops and their civic leaders going forward. For three
days, thousands of militarized strangers took possession of our city,
ostensibly to "protect" foreign and domestic leaders most of us would
never see, much less meet. As one critic of the police action said during
a news conference at the Thomas Merton Center yesterday, if the planners
of future G-20 summits really want to ensure smooth, dissent-free
experiences for the world's leaders, why not have the conferences at
military bases?
Security for the G-20 in Pittsburgh is put conservatively at $20 million.
There was an estimated $50,000 in damage to windows and storefronts caused
by anarchists in a few neighborhoods on the East End. But more than a few
windows were broken last week. Something ghastly happened to us.
We proved we were willing to give up something very precious to us for a
few days in the international spotlight. We invited authoritarianism into
our homes and promised not to whimper while it danced on our necks. This
is truly pathetic.

"crowd control munitions," including one that reportedly made its debut in
the US, was deployed with a massive, overpowering police presence in
Pittsburgh during last week's G-20 protests.
Nearly 200 arrests were made and civil liberties groups charged the many
thousands of police (transported on Port Authority buses displaying
"PITTSBURGH WELCOMES THE WORLD"), from as far away as Arizona and Florida
with overreacting ... and they had plenty of weaponry with which to do it.
Bean bags fired from shotguns, CS (tear) gas, OC (Oleoresin Capsicum)
spray, flash-bang grenades, batons and, according to local news reports,
for the first time on the streets of America, the Long Range Acoustic
Device (LRAD).
I saw the LRAD, mounted in the turret of an Armored Personnel Carrier
(APC), in action twice in the area of 25th, Penn and Liberty Streets of
Lawrenceville, an old Pittsburgh neighborhood. Blasting a shrill, piercing
noise like a high-pitched police siren on steroids, it quickly swept
streets and sidewalks of pedestrians, merchants and journalists, and drove
residents into their homes, but in neither case were any demonstrators
present. The APC, oversized and sinister for a city street, together with
lines of police in full riot gear looking like darkly threatening Michelin
Men, made for a scene out of a movie you didn't want to be in.
As intimidating as this massive show of armed force and technology was,
the good burghers of Pittsburgh and their fellow citizens in the Land of
the Brave and Home of the Free ain't seen nothin' yet. Tear gas and pepper
spray are nothing to sniff at and, indeed, have proven fatal a surprising
number of times, but they have now become the old standbys compared to the
list below that's already at or coming soon to a police station or
National Guard headquarters near you. Proving that "what goes around,
comes around," some of the new Property Protection Devices were developed
by a network of federally funded, university-based research institutes
like one in Pittsburgh itself, Penn State's Institute for Non-Lethal
Defense Technologies.
* Raytheon Corp.'s Active Denial System, designed for crowd control in
combat zones, uses an energy beam to induce an intolerable heating
sensation, like a hot iron placed on the skin. It is effective beyond the
range of small arms, in excess of 400 meters (about one-quarter mile).
Company officials have been advised they could expand the market by
selling a smaller, tripod-mounted version for police forces.
* M5 Modular Crowd Control Munition, with a range of 30 meters (about
98 feet) "is similar in operation to a claymore mine, but it delivers ...
a strong, nonpenetrating blow to the body with multiple sub-munitions (600
rubber balls)."
* Long Range Acoustic Device or "The Scream," is a powerful megaphone
the size of a satellite dish that can emit sound "50 times greater than
the human threshold for pain" at close range, causing permanent hearing
damage. The Los Angeles Times wrote that US Marines in Iraq used it in
2004. It can deliver recorded warnings in Arabic and, on command, emit a
piercing tone ..." [For] most people, even if they plug their ears, [the
device] will produce the equivalent of an instant migraine," says Woody
Norris, chairman of American Technology Corp., the San Diego firm that
produces the weapon. "It will knock [some people] on their knees." CBS
News reported in 2005 that the Israeli Army first used the device in the
field to break up a protest against Israel's separation wall. "Protesters
covered their ears and grabbed their heads, overcome by dizziness and
nausea, after the vehicle-mounted device began sending out bursts of
audible, but not loud, sound at intervals of about 10 seconds.... A
military official said the device emits a special frequency that targets
the inner ear."
* In "Non-Lethal Technologies: An Overview," Lewer and Davison
describe a lengthy catalog of new weaponry, including the "Directed Stick
Radiator," a hand-held system based on the same technology as The Scream.
"It fires high intensity 'sonic bullets' or pulses of sound between
125-150db for a second or two. Such a weapon could, when fully developed,
have the capacity to knock people off their feet."
* The Penn State facility is testing a "Distributed Sound and Light
Array Debilitator" a.k.a. the "puke ray." The colors and rhythm of light
are absorbed by the retina and disorient the brain, blinding the victim
for several seconds. In conjunction with disturbing sounds, it can make
the person stumble or feel nauseated. Foreign Policy in Focus reports that
the Department of Homeland Security, with $1 million invested for testing
the device, hopes to see it "in the hands of thousands of policemen,
border agents and National Guardsmen" by 2010.
* Spider silk is cited in the University of Bradford's Non-Lethal
Weapons Research Project, Report #4 (pg. 20) as an up-and-comer. "A
research collaboration between the University of New Hampshire and the US
Army Natick Research, Development and Engineering Center is looking into
the use of spider silk as a non-lethal 'entanglement' material for
disabling people. They have developed a method for producing recombinant
spider silk protein using E. coli and are trying to develop methods to
produce large quantities of these fibres."
* New Scientist reports that the (I'm not making this up) Inertial
Capacitive Incapacitator (ICI), developed by the Physical Optics
Corporation of Torrance, California, uses a thin-film storage device
charged during manufacture that only discharges when it strikes the
target. It can be incorporated into a ring-shaped aerofoil and fired from
a standard grenade launcher at low velocity, while still maintaining a
flat trajectory for maximum accuracy.
* Aiming beyond Tasers, the Homeland Security Advanced Research
Projects Agency, (FY 2009 budget: $1 billion) the domestic equivalent of
the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), plans to develop
wireless weapons effective over greater distances, such as in an
auditorium or sports stadium, or on a city street. One such device, the
Piezer, uses piezoelectric crystals that produce voltage when they are
compressed. A 12-gauge shotgun fires the crystals, stunning the target
with an electric shock on impact. Lynntech of College Station, Texas, is
developing a projectile Taser that can be fired from a shotgun or 40-mm
grenade launcher to greatly increase the weapon's current range of seven
meters.
* "Off the Rocker and On the Floor: Continued Development of
Biochemical Incapacitating Weapons," a report by the Bradford Disarmament
Research Centre revealed that in 1992, the National Institute of Justice
contracted with Lawrence Livermore National Lab to review clinical
anesthetics for use by special ops military forces and police. The lab
concluded the best option was an opioid, like fentanyl, effective at very
low doses compared to morphine. Combined with a patch soaked in DMSO
(dimethylsufoxide, a solvent) and fired from an air rifle, fentanyl could
be delivered to the skin even through light clothing. Another recommended
application for the drug was mixed with fine powder and dispersed as
smoke.
* After upgrades, the infamous "Puff the Magic Dragon" gunship from
the Vietnam War is now the AC-130. "Non-Lethal Weaponry: Applications to
AC-130 Gunships," observes that "With the increasing involvement of US
military in operations other than war ..." the AC-130 "would provide
commanders a full range of non-lethal weaponry from an airborne platform
which was not previously available to them." The paper concludes in part
that "As the use of non-lethal weapons increases and it becomes valid and
acceptable, more options will become available."
* Prozac and Zoloft are two of over 100 pharmaceuticals identified by
the Penn State College of Medicine and the university's Applied Research
Lab for further study as "non-lethal calmatives." These Selective
Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs), noted the Penn State study, "...
are found to be highly effective for numerous behavioral disturbances
encountered in situations where a deployment of a non-lethal technique
must be considered. This class of pharmaceutical agents also continues to
be under intense development by the pharmaceutical industry.... New
compounds under development (WO 09500194) are being designed with a faster
onset of action. Drug development is continuing at a rapid rate in this
area due to the large market for the treatment of depression (15 million
individuals in North America).... It is likely that an SSRI agent can be
identified in the near future that will feature a rapid rate of onset."
In Pittsburgh last week, an enormously expensive show of police and
weaponry, intended for "security" of the G20 delegates, simultaneously
shut workers out of downtown jobs for two days, forced gasping students
and residents back into their dormitories and homes, and turned
journalists' press passes into quaint, obsolete reminders of a bygone
time.
Most significant of all, however, was what Witold Walczak, legal
director of the Pennsylvania ACLU, told The Associated Press: "It's not
just intimidation, it's disruption and in some cases outright prevention
of peaceful protesters being able to get their message out."

Acoustic and Chemical Attacks on the Brazilian Embassy
The Sound and Fury of the Honduran Coup

Over the past few days, reports poured in from Honduras of the use of
sound devices and chemical warfare in attacks on the Brazilian Embassy by
the Honduran coup. The use of Long Range Acoustic Device (LRAD) has been
confirmed by observers and journalists. Numerous photographers have also
documented their use.
The UN Security Council today called upon the de facto government of
Honduras to "cease harassing the Brazilian Embassy" and "condemned acts of
intimidation."
These devices are described as a "non-lethal weapon" produced by the
U.S.-based American Technology Corporation. They emit painful sound at 151
db. with a range of 300 meters on land, and are used in situations of war
and to control demonstrations.
While acoustics weapons have been used over the past several days, on
Friday the Armed Forces sprayed the Embassy with poisonous gases and by
some accounts pumped them into the building through the drainage system.
The Honduran News Network reports that First Lady Xiomara Castro de Zelaya
climbed a ladder to ascertain the source of the attacks and was sprayed
with chemicals. She and others in the Embassy are reportedly experiencing
bleeding as a result of the effects of the chemicals.
Father Andres Tamayo described the situation to Radio Progreso, "Over a
thousand soldiers in front (of the Embassy) left and returned with a
cistern and helicopters spraying gases. There are also neighbors that lent
their houses to spray these things and house the military. They have
placed pipes to spread the gases. We feel a tightness in our stomachs and
throat, vomiting, dizziness and some people are urinating blood. There are
more than a thousand people around here and at this moment all we can do
is drink a little milk."
A press conference was called to reveal the results of the analysis of the
gas, done by public health specialist Dr. Mauricio Castellanos.
* Concentrations above normal of amonia, which is used as a base of pepper
gas
* Concentration between 100 and 200 particles per thousand
* Hydrocyanic acid, which produces a rapid reaction on inhaling when it
enters in contact with the iron in the blood, and produces vertigo,
nausea, stomach pain, headaches and breathing difficulties
The report concluded, "This mixture is technologically purely military,
prohibited under international treaties. Exposure for a prolonged period
is lethal to any living organism."
Juan Almendares, a Honduran medical doctor and human rights leader,
states:
"The occupants of the Brazilian Embassy that accompany President Manuel
Zelaya Rosales, his wife and family, communities and protesters are the
object of the launching of chemical arms from helicopters and airplanes or
troops, and the use of sophisticated sound and electromagnetic equipment
that have produced severe diarrhea, vomiting, nasal hemorrhages and
gastrointestinal problems in both the Embassy and surrounding areas.
"According to the clinical reports, this could be due to the usage of
toxic substances including: pesticides, chemical components of gases,
radioactive substances like radioactive cesium and toxic mushrooms.
"It is urgent that an international medical team from the United Nations
and the World Health Organization be sent. We are facing an irregular war
against the people of Honduras. The Armed Forces do not allow the
International Red Cross entry into the Brazilian Embassy, violating all
international health treaties and conventions and human rights."
Numerous reports, including Honduran News Network sources, also mentioned
radioactive cesium. If the use of radioactive cesium is confirmed, the
consequences are very serious. The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease
Registry finds that the effects of high levels include the symptoms listed
above and even coma and death.
This is the notorious "day-after" effect of nuclear bombs. The agency adds
that "it is reasonable to expect that individuals exposed to high levels
of radiation from a source of radioactive cesium will develop the same
types of cancer observed in survivors of the atomic bombs in Japan."
Embassies are protected under the Vienna Convention and any violation of
this is an international issue. With the notable exceptions of Colombia
and the United States, all nations of the region expressed concern about
the Honduran situation at the 64th UN General Assembly meeting.
As the society breaks down into a coup-provoked crisis, the Women's
Collective CODEMUH writes in to that workers in offshore assembly plants
have been forced to work overtime to make up for time lost due to the
coup's curfews, in clear violation of labor law.
The Collective notes, "According to Article 23 of the Labor Code, "Workers
can participate in profits or benefits of the boss, but never assume the
risks and losses," meaning that business cannot charge workers for the
losses caused by the national political crisis, which the businessmen and
women are key actors in causing. Ladies and gentlemen, you cannot force
workers to pay for the losses that you provoked with the coup d'etat. "We
call on transnational brands like Nike, GAP, Adidas, Hanes, HBI and
Walmart, among others, as well as university students in the U.S. and
consumers in general, who wear the products produced in the sweatshops of
Honduras, to demand the offshore industry pay its workers for the days
they did not show up for work due to the curfew of the de facto
government, without requiring that they make up these days. And that the
workers refuse to accept these extra days."
President Zelaya has called on "the resistance to maintain the fight that
together, the people and the president, will achieve the constitutional
reforms and fall of the usurpers."
With the no-holds-barred repression unleashed by the coup regime and the
increasing militancy and organization of the resistance - still adhering
to principles of non-violence, to their credit - the political ground has
once again shifted in Honduras. The terms of the San Jose Accords,
hammered out by President Oscar Arias of Costa Rica and consistently
rejected by the coup regime, have become clearly obsolete. The demand for
a constitutional assembly has grown in breadth and volume throughout the
country. The urgent tasks before the international community are to
recognize that the crisis requires structural reforms and not patch-ups,
to halt the human rights violations immediately, and to take all
diplomatic steps toward the reinstatement of the constitutional
government.

PM Netanyahu's UN Speech

Israeli PM Netanyahu's speech at the UN is a major insight into the
Israeli's mentality, psyche and logic. In his speech Netanyahu, a prolific
and charismatic speaker, gives air to his genocidal inclinations, he
brings to light the Israeli supremacy but he also allows us to detect some
shaky and vulnerable spots at the heart of the Jewish national narrative.
Reading Netanyahu's speech makes it very clear that both the Zionist Shoa
and the "promised land" narratives are on the verge of collapse. It seems
as if the "discredited" Iranian president Ahmadinejad has managed to
succeed after all.
Don't You Mess With Our Shoa
Israelis love their Shoa, for the Shoa is no doubt their best selling
Hasbara (propaganda) product. It somehow allows them to kill en masse and
to do it indistinguishably while insisting that it is they who happen to
be the victims.
"I went to a villa in a suburb of Berlin called Wannsee". Said Netanyahu.
"There, on January 20,1942, after a hearty meal, senior Nazi officials met
and decided how to exterminate the Jewish people".
PM Netanyahu, if you are genuinely interested in "extermination plans" you
do not have to travel to Wannsee, Berlin. All you have to do is visit your
IDF's headquarters in Tel Aviv. Your chief commanders will guide you
through their IDF "solutions" for the Palestinians. At the end of the day,
it is your army that surrounds Palestinians with barbed-wire, it is you
who keep civilian populations in a siege with inadequate food supplies and
medicine. It is your army that poured WMD over the most densely populated
neighbourhoods on this planet. While the real meaning of the "Nazi Final
Solution" (Die Endlsung) is still discussed by historians who fail to
agree between themselves what it really meant, the true reality of the
Israeli murderous solution has been seen by us all.
However, it is almost amusing to see PM Netanyahu rushing to defend the
Zionist holocaust narrative. Looking at Netanyahu presenting the protocol
of the Wannsee conference to the UN assembly gives a clear impression that
the Israeli PM believes that the Shoa needs an urgent pump of credibility.
For the first time, the Shoa is on the defence.
"Here is a copy of the plans for Auschwitz-Birkenau, where one million
Jews were murdered. Is this too a lie?" asks the Israeli PM.
PM Netanyahu, may I suggest to you that not a single humanist cares about
the exact numbers: whether it was one or four million Jews who died in
Auschwitz, no one doubts that the camp was a horrible place. Yet, two
questions must be answered once and for all: how is it that the Jews, who
suffered so much during that war, managed to get themselves involved in a
colossal racist crime against the Palestinians (1948 Nakba) just three
years after the liberation of Auschwitz? How is it that the Israeli
leadership, that happens to be so sensitive to Jewish suffering, manages
to neglect the pain they inflict on millions of Palestinians?
Supremacy and Beyond
As a National movement, Zionism fails to respect other national and
popular movements. Seemingly Netanyahu fails to respect the Iranian people
and their regime. "Wherever they can, they impose a backward regimented
society where women, minorities, gays or anyone not deemed to be a true
believer is brutally subjugated". Netanyahu, must know that the Judaic law
is not very different from Islam on these matters. He must also remember
that it is in his country that gays were murdered in the street just a
month ago. It is almost amusing that Netanyahu chooses to equate Iran with
Barbarism and the Middle Ages for its treatment of minorities. As far as
minorities are concerned, the Jewish state is actually the darkest place
on this planet. In Netanyahu's promised land half of the population cannot
participate in the democratic game just for failing to be Jewish.
Israel according to Netanyahu is the embodiment of Western modernity: "We
(the Westerners) will crack the genetic code. We will cure the incurable.
We will lengthen our lives. We will find a cheap alternative to fossil
fuels and clean up the planet. I am proud that my country Israel is at the
forefront of these advances".
I must admit that I am not at all overwhelmed by Israeli scientific or
technological achievements. Nor have I ever seen any evidence of Israeli
attempts to save humanity or even the planet. In fact all I see is quite
the opposite. However, if Netanyahu welcomes scientific progress, he
should be the first to rally for the Iranian nuclear project. As we all
know, this doesn't seem to be the case. He, for some reason, thinks that,
at least regionally, nuclear energy and weapons must remain Jew only
property.
Netanyahu argues that "if the most primitive fanaticism can acquire the
most deadly weapons, the march of history could be reversed for a time".
Netanyahu may well be correct but one should point out to him that the
above applies to Israel more than any other country, state or society. For
the time being it is the Jewish State that has been caught pouring WMD on
its imprisoned civilian population. It is the Jewish State that is
dragging us all into an "eye for an eye" primitive Biblical fanaticism. As
if this is not enough, it is also America and Britain that launched
illegal wars orchestrated by Zionist led Neocons and fundraisers. This war
has cost more than one million lives so far.
However, for once I agree with Netanyhau:
"The greatest threat facing the world today," he says, "is the marriage
between religious fanaticism and the weapons of mass destruction".
In fact, no one could describe the danger posed by the Jewish state and
Zionism any better. Israel is indeed a deadly marriage between Old
Testament gross genocidal barbarism, Zionist fanaticism and a huge arsenal
of WMD, chemical, biological and nuclear that has already been partially
put into action.
Sabbath Goyim
Like other Zionist operations around the world, Netanyahu is convinced
that the Goyim should fight the Jewish wars. "Above all, will the
international community stop the terrorist regime of Iran from developing
atomic weapons, thereby endangering the peace of the entire world?"
I actually would like to stress that PM Netanyahu is all wrong here. If
the United Nation is interested in bringing peace to this region and the
world, it is of the essence to help Iran to develop its nuclear project
and even its military nuclear capacity. This seems to be the only thing
that may curb the English Speaking Empire's lethal expansionist enthusiasm
as performed recently in Iraq, Pakistan and Afghanistan. It will surely
stop the Zionists from celebrating their symptoms at the expense of their
neighbours.
Following the successful transformation of the American and British armies
into an Israeli subservient mission force, Netanyahu seems to expect the
UN to follow and to fulfill the very same role. "Hamas," he says, "fired
from Gaza thousands of missiles, mortars and rockets on nearby Israeli
cities. Year after year, as these missiles were deliberately hurled at our
civilians, not a single UN resolution was passed condemning those criminal
attacks". I guess that someone should remind the Israeli PM that the
dispute between Hamas and Israel is not exactly an international quarrel,
for Palestine is not a sovereign state and Gaza is nothing less than an
Israeli-run concentration camp. In other words, the practicality of the
matter is simple. The UN should only deal with war crimes and crimes
against humanity committed by Israel, its leadership and its army. It is
not down to the UN to pass any kind of judgment on the oppressed.
Mass Murder Fantasies
It doesn't take long before Netanyahu lists his ideological mentors and
the core of his lethal inspiration - "When the Nazis rocketed British
cities during World War II". Actually the allies levelled German cities,
causing hundreds of thousands of victims. By these twisted standards, the
UN Human Rights Council would have dragged Roosevelt and Churchill to the
dock as war criminals. What a perversion of truth. What a perversion of
justice. Delegates of the United Nations, will you accept this farce?.
Netanyahu is almost correct. In his recounting of the 2nd WW he surely
admits here that Israel follows Roosevelt's and Churchill's mass murder
tactics. But he surely fails to realise that if it was indeed down to
ethics and Justice (rather than the usual dirty politics) Roosevelt and
Churchill would have been charged with war crimes on a most severe scale.
Shockingly enough, Netanyahu falls into the most obvious legal trap
equating Israeli activity with acts of carpet bombardment on a huge scale.
For those who fail to see it all, this is a rapidly blinking red light
hazard. In Netanyahu's perception of reality nuking countries and
flattening towns is a justifiable act. Roosevelt and Churchill seem to be
his moral entitlement. In fact these statements are enough to make it
clear to every reasonable human being that Israel is a genocidal entity
that is capable of bringing our civilisation to a devastating end.
This is a wake up call: it is not just the Palestinians or the Iranians.
It is actually all of us.
Bibi1 the Peace Maker
By now, the Israeli PM is ready to state his Judeo-centric peace mantra.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, all of Israel wants peace". Yet as far as
statistics are concerned, we have recently learned that 94% of the Israeli
Jews also approved the carpet bombardment of their next door neighbours.
It is impossible not to see a clear discrepancy between the "peace loving"
verbalism and the murderous reality.
"We ask the Palestinians to finally do what they have refused to do for 62
years: Say yes to a Jewish state". Once again, I happen to agree with PM
Netanyahu. The Palestinian may as well say YES to a Jewish state, but not
in Palestine or in the Middle East. If Obama, Brown, Merkel or any other
deluded world leader who is still insisting to approve the validity or
necessity of a racially oriented "Jewish national homeland," he or she is
more than welcome to allocate land to such a project within his or her own
territory. Palestinians should say NO to a Jewish state in the Holy Land
or in the region. Palestinians should never agree to the existence of a
Jewish state on their land. In fact the UN must follow this line and do
whatever it can to dismantle this evil apartheid regime.
Khazarian United
To a certain extent, Netanyahu's UN speech expresses some deep concerns
Jews tend to keep to themselves. At the end of the day, the Israelis and
Ashkenazi Israelis in particular know pretty well that Palestine is not
exactly the land of their ancestors. If the Israeli Ashkenazi Jews,
including Netanyahu, do want to find their roots, Khazaria is the place to
start. However, Netanyahu tries to defuse these historical facts. "The
Jewish people are not foreign conquerors in the Land of Israel. This is
the land of our forefathers. We are not strangers to this land. It is our
homeland," says Netanyahu with total conviction.
PM Netanyahu, I will make it plain and clear. Not only are you foreign to
the land, you are also foreign to almost every possible understanding of
the notion of humanity. In fact, the Separation Wall that is going to be
left after the inevitable disappearance of your "Jew only democracy" will
serve generations to come with an astonishing historical monument of
Jewish national identity estranged from ethics, universalism and human
brotherhood. The crime against humanity committed by the Jewish state in
the name of the Jewish people is not something that will be wiped out from
the history text books in a short time. Quite the opposite; it will stand
as another mythological chapter in this never-ending saga of supremacist
compulsive pathological self-loving.
"We must have security" says Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu as he ends his
speech. And I am here to disappoint him. Israel will never be secured. It
was born in a sin, and its existence surpasses any notion of ethics or
human existence. The Jewish state has passed the "no return zone". It is
doomed to vanish. We can only hope that once this happens the process of
Jewish assimilation and integration into humanity will re-embark. At the
end of the day Jewish Nationalism both left, right and centre was there to
keep Jews apart. The history of the 20th century teaches us that this
tendency to segregate oneself is bad for humanity and it is also
devastating for the Jews.
