Network outage this morning

This morning, Tiger Technologies experienced a network problem that caused all services to be unavailable from 7:56 to 8:10 AM Pacific time. All services began working completely normally again at 8:10.

The cause of the problem was a widespread network outage in the Silicon Valley data center we use. The outage affected tens of thousands of companies, and was not directly related to our systems. (Our servers are housed in a data center that offers extremely reliable network, power, cooling and security systems. However, even these kinds of data centers do have occasional network outages.)

We have been assured by the data center technicians that the underlying network problem has been resolved and should not recur. We have been using the same data center for more than four years, and these types of problems are extremely rare.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. We know you count on us for reliable service, and we consider any service interruption to be unacceptable, just as you do.

Please let us know if you have any questions. We appreciate the trust you place in us to host your Web site and e-mail service.
