Dear Tiger Technologies Web hosting customer,

Earlier today (at about 11:20 AM Pacific time), some of our servers 
unexpectedly lost electrical power for 8 minutes. During that time, the 
Web sites of many of our customers were unavailable and incoming e-mail 
was delayed.

We have traced this problem to a new power distribution unit that was 
installed at our data center last week. The unit monitors and controls 
power for eight servers, but today it unexpectedly cut off power to five 
of them.

Because we are unsure why the device failed, we have decided to 
completely remove it to avoid any additional problems. This 
unfortunately involves restarting all the servers attached to it; 
because of that, we have scheduled a maintenance period for 9 PM Pacific 
time tonight (Saturday October 15). Customers may experience a short 
(less than five minute) outage at approximately 9 PM as some of our Web 
and mail servers are restarted.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Removing the faulty 
power distribution unit will make sure that there are no additional 
outages caused by this problem.
