Dear Tiger Technologies Web hosting customer,
From 6:36 to 7:08 AM Pacific time this morning, there was an unscheduled network outage at our data center. During that period, all of our Web and e-mail servers were unreachable from the Internet, and incoming e-mail was delayed (no mail was lost).
The cause of this problem was a widespread failure that affected several thousand companies at the Silicon Valley data center we use. A high-capacity Cisco router stopped working properly soon after being installed (which also caused a small amount of network instability late last night), and it eventually had to be replaced on an emergency basis. We're told that the problem has now been resolved.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this caused. We don't consider any outage acceptable or normal, and we strive to avoid this kind of problem.
Please let us know if you have any questions. We appreciate your business!
