Slow connections this morning (Thursday November 30)

Dear Tiger Technologies Customer,

Between 10:01 and 11:26 AM Pacific time this morning, our data center experienced intermittent connection problems to one of the Internet "backbones" that serves comcast.net and some other ISPs.

(A "backbone" routes data between different ISPs. When someone connects to our servers, the data goes from their ISP, through one or more backbone companies, then to our data center.)

Because of this, a small but significant number of people (particularly those using comcast.net cable modem service) experienced slow connections to our servers. The connections could occasionally even be slow enough to "time out".

The engineers at the data center have resolved the issue, and all our systems are operating normally.

This issue appears to be similar to the problem that caused some slow connections on November 19. We don't consider ongoing/repeat problems acceptable, and we intend to pursue this issue further with the data center to ensure the problem does not recur.

We apologize for any inconvenience this caused. Please let us know if you have any questions.
